About Me

Professionally Speaking

My name is William Sidebottom and I'm a Computer Engineer (CpE) out of Florida State University.

After graduating college, I worked in various roles for a few defense programs at Lockheed Martin (LMT) which included the F-16 and F-35 Pilot Training Devices building real time flight simulators.

Currently, I'm working as a Reverse Engineer for the National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC) where we fascilitate cyber training and test events.

Programming Interests

My primary focus these days is in systems or lower level programming. I primarily use C/C++, but I'm currently learning other languages like Rust and Lisp.

I've recently adopted writing in GNU Emacs after a long hiatus. This blog is written using Emacs and Org mode, which I hope to discuss further.

Occasionally, I'll shamelessly wear a DSO hat and make sure the pipelines at work aren't clogged.

Hobbies

I've recently started a family with my wife, so my primary hobby is raising my son. But when I have time, I like to be out in my garage getting my hands dirty with some saw dust and learning about hand tool wood working.
